BACKGROUND

Mr Nixon has had more than thirty years of increasing responsibility for the project management, planning, design and construction of major civil engineering and building projects involving harbours, marine terminals, infra structural projects, container / intermodal / automotive yards throughout the world. Since 1970 he has served as design engineer responsible for the design for R100 million marina complex in South Africa and in 1979 he formed a consulting Practise Nigel Nixon and Associates latterly Nigel Nixon and Partners. He served as the Company’s President and project Director on many of the firm’s structural, civil, road and paving works in the UK and throughout the world. He presented many papers at various International Institutions and Conventions worldwide. He has also been involved in major maritime and transport related feasibility studies and is a regular Speaker at Maritime and Intermodal Conferences. Since setting up the company’s US subsidiary Nigel Nixon and Partners Inc. he has been responsible for all aspects of the company’s road and paving works whilst taking particular interest in port and transportation logistics and auto/intermodal terminals. He is currently Chairman of that firm. Recently Nigel Nixon resigned as an Executive Director of Nigel Nixon and Partners Ltd, but has been able to continue to give them and many of his clients expert strategic advise on the project management of major infrastructural projects in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Benelux Countries, France, Ukraine, Denmark, Karachi, Spain, Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad, Mexico, Latvia, Oman, Bahrain, Bangkok and Sattahip in Thailand, and throughout the major Ports, Intermodal and Automotive Yards within the United States and Canada.

Through his other company, Martindale McAndrew jointly owned with Keith Martindale, he has been responsible for project managing, co-ordinating and value engineering a number of large and prestigious development projects throughout the United Kingdom, USA, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Germany, utilising his wealth of experience in the Construction and Development Industry. He is also an advisor to a number of Construction Groups and large Corporate Companies.

He is also a Director of Unicor Finance. UNICOR Finance is a market leader in the finance processing sector and ultra modern e-cash payment technologies and mobile phone applications.

In 2009 he was appointed on the Board of RAMC. The Russian Auto Moto Club [RAMC] is the only truly national mobility partner for the Car manufacturing industry, offering a range of tailor-made warranty and assistance products.  

Russia, which is currently enjoying a very fast growing car-market, lacks a sophisticated high quality national mobility assistance service. As a result the leading Automobile Clubs of Europe, associated within ARC Europe, decided to extend its own enterprise into Russia and transfer its wealth of expertise in Roadside Assistance in joint venture with Unicor Finance. ARC Europe is owned by: ADAC – Germany, ANWB - The Netherlands, AA – United Kingdom, TCB – Belgium, TCS – Switzerland, OAMTC –Austria, ACI–Italy, and RACE – Spain, all of whom are market leaders in mobility and warranty programs for car manufacturers. ARC Europe serves together more than 40 million individual members across Europe.
